Gardens have always been a favorite subject for artists. Yet many of the most familiar works are by men. For this artful lecture, join Carolyn Bennett for a survey of women artists who spent their lives and careers challenging the notion that women could not be fine artists. From paintings and ceramics to fashion and sculpture, this lecture will showcase works of art featuring gardens and the women who created them. Carolyn Bennett is a California-based researcher, writer, and lecturer in garden conservation and garden design.
