SAGE is a service program for students ages 14–18.
Outdoor Youth Corps is a workforce development program for ages 16–20 that connects St. Louis city youth to environmental stewardship projects, community engagement opportunities, and potential environmental careers.
The Missouri Botanical Garden Youth Fellowship Program is a scholarship program that recognizes the top high school seniors in the St. Louis region for their work as environmental stewards.
SIFT is an informal field-based education program at the Shaw Nature Reserve for students entering their sophomore or junior year.
MANTIS is a service program at the Butterfly House allowing teens ages 14–18 to gain hands-on experience in nature conservation.
For Youth and Pre-Teens
Habitat Helpers is designed to help kids in grades 4–5 build knowledge of the natural world by exploring the Shaw Nature Reserve’s prairies, woodlands and aquatic communities.
H2O is a fun and educational program for kids in grades 6–8 to become more familiar with natural settings by focusing on ecosystems at the Shaw Nature Reserve and instruction in outdoor skills.
Outdoor Adventures for Teens at the Shaw Nature Reserve
Teens can enjoy climbing into the tree canopy, learn to fly fish or kayak. Other opportunities include sustainable garden projects, ecological restoration and nature photography. Learn more
