Gatherings for Grown-ups is a low-key, casual event targeted at bringing people together in creative ways to build community. We invite people to come and engage in creative pursuits with the nature of the Garden as a backdrop, reimagining how the Garden can be used as a place to foster connection and strengthen community well-being. In a time when adults struggle to build relationships and find friendships, Gatherings for Grown-ups is intended to create space for cultivation of personal connections.
All activities are included in Garden admission. Registration not required. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome.
Collaging:
Pick up scissors and glue, find images and words that spark your interest, and create art! In the process, explore and exchange what interests you and others about the natural world. Connecting with nature and new people in the spirit of time well spent can improve relationships and well-being.
A variety of materials will be provided, including paper, magazines, newsprint, watercolors, decorative items and natural materials to incorporate into your design. Feel free to bring personal items such as photos, cards, mementos to personalize your creation.
