Chemical Action and Usages: Cyfluthrin (Chemical name = Cyano (4-fluoro-3phenoxyphenyl) methyl 3-(2, 2-dichloroethenyl)-2-2 dimethylcyclopropaneacarboxylate) is a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide that has both contact and stomach poison action. It is a non-systemic chemical used to control pests such as ants, silverfish, cockroaches and other household type pests. It also controls leafhoppers, leaf miners, cutworms, armyworms, corn earworms, codling moth, cabbageworm, loopers, Colorado potato beetle and many others. Depending on the brand and formulation selected, it may also be labeled for turf, ornamentals and vegetables Cyfluthrin based insecticide formulations are available as wettable powders, aerosols, granules, emulsifiable concentrates and liquids.

Toxicity: Cyfluthrin is highly toxic to bees, other beneficial insects and to marine and freshwater organisms. It is considered moderately toxic to mammals. In humans, it may be a skin and eye irritant.
