Chemical Action and Usages: Captan is a wettable powder (WP) fungicide specially formulated to mix easily with water to control fungus diseases on fruits and ornamentals. It is used to control botrytis, leaf spots, powdery mildew, rots and is especially effective on cedar apple rust on fruit trees. It is also used as a seed treatment on vegetables and as a pre-plant treatment on gladioli and tuberous begonias. Captan may also be used to control damping-off and seedling blight of certain ornamental cuttings in greenhouses. It is also limited use on lawns and turf.

Cautions/Instructions: Read the label carefully of the brand you have selected. Apply the product according to the directions on the label. Agitate or shake the spray tank repeatedly during application to keep the chemical in suspension.

Toxicity: Can cause significant skin and eye irritation in humans, but is otherwise of low toxicity. Low toxicity to birds. Low dermal/high oral toxicity to bees, high toxicity to fish.
