How can I deal with an insect sting?
Wasp and bee stings can be life threatening if you are allergic to the venom. Only a small percentage of the population is allergic but anyone stung by a bee or wasp should be watched closely. If the victim becomes dizzy, flushed, nauseous, coughs and has cramps and difficulty breathing, call emergency help at once. People who know they are allergic usually carry a kit with them so they can administer a shot if needed.
To limit your "attractiveness" to bees and wasps do not walk barefoot in a lawn and do not wear perfume or floral clothing which are attractive to bees and wasps. Also look before you smell or grasp a flower. Bees and wasps are most active on warm, sunny days and are less active in early morning or at night.
