The Garden is proud to welcome a group of visitors from the Japanese city of Ishinomaki. The city of Ishinomaki was devastated by the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami of 2011. Our guests will display a variety of yukata (cotton kimono) worn in summer festivals in Japan. The show ends with an Ishinomaki Bon Dance. The program is presented by Japan America Society of St. Louis and is funded by NAJAS/Tomodachi Grassroots Exchange Program.
