Noteworthy Characteristics
Sanicula caerulescens, commonly called blue sanicle, is a shade-loving herbaceous perennial that is native to China. Tiny brush-like white flowers with blue tips bloom over a mound of divided bronze-green leaves. Flowers bloom in spring (May), with a less vigorous but continued bloom into late summer. It typically grows to 6” tall and spreads to 18” wide.
Genus name comes from the Latin word sanus meaning healthy.
Specific epithet from Latin means dark blue.
